Earlier this season we had the pleasure of working with my very good friend, the lovely Carol Rash. I wanted to create a sexy medley of leather, body florals, and natural backdrops, and of course encompass a sharp edge. The location was selected for the rich textural grey barn board, plantings, and privacy for us to have some fun!

We started by wrapping her up with brown leather straps and strands of white roses. The hair piece was created with silver aluminum wire, white orchids and craspedia. The matching bouquet showcased the silver wire work with Tiger Eye beads and craspedia balls with one of my signature grass weaved handles. I wanted the makeup to show off her stunning blue eyes, and fair complexion, which played perfectly with the greens of the Honeysuckle bush. I am so pleased to be able to present to you ..from concept to finish my design work with Carol.

Thank you to my pal Steve Pelizza, my patient and accepting employees Lisa Delisle, and Hope Cochrane, and Bill Stockman of Spider Web Gardens for letting us use his space.

Most of all thank you Carol, you were way too much fun, beautiful and now officially part of my portfolio forever…….Enjoy the pics!

New Twist On The Classic Beauty

New twist on the classic beauty… This much can be said about the Inn On Main in Wolfeboro New Hampshire as well.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out their newly renovated modern space this should definitely pique your interest.  This super-sexy, hand made red rose petal dress was constructed out of hundreds of rose petals and designed specifically with this hot new local space in mind.

Glowing candles all over shiny black and white marble tile with a smattering of rose petals and black feather boas were the perfect addition to the ambiance provided by the new look of the Inn On Main.  Our beautiful model was ideal for this shoot, with her sleek and slim physique, pretty face and  long dark hair.

I’m thrilled to again have had the opportunity to work with the world’s finest product and some incredible people to bring to you another round of floral fashion.  Enjoy!

Hello everyone!

I’m so pleased to be able to present to you some of our images from a fantastic photo shoot we did with my friends Hope and Steve.  We selected a serene spot in the forest, full of moss covered rocks and luscious ferns set by a small stream.

The object of the photo shoot was to capture an elegant and natural look using native materials and a few of my other favorite flowers.  I wanted to portray beauty in the natural environment and make my model feel incredible!  The dress is comprised of tropical foliages, feathers, weeping willow, grass reeds, green fujis and of course the ever-stunning green cymbidium orchid blooms!  The hairstyle and makeup was also designed and applied by me.

I couldn’t have asked for a better vibe, a more beautiful day, more stunning model or a more competent photography partner.  I hope you’ll enjoy looking over these gorgeous images as much as we do!

Feast your eyes on these and keep them peeled for more fashion floral photography!!

ART HAPPENS

When ever I am not arranging flowers I am probably doing some kind of art project. Like this one! … A friend had given me a bunch of leftover paints that I did nothing with for a year.   I had to get rid of them somehow so I decided to try a pour technique on a canvas.  I popped open the tops and immediately became inspired.  When I came  to,  I had a cold Corona in my hand and had completed eight paintings.  The sun was shining and so warm, and all the cans were empty.

GET TO KNOW YOUR EASTER LILIES PERSONALLY

Ever wonder where all of these beautiful plants and flowers come from?  I do… Every plant has a place where it originates from and grows wild and free and is probably considered a weed by natives, while being cherished and sold at top dollar by someone else on the other side of the world.   Of course plants are always being modified to bring out specific characteristics branding them with a new name/variety, but I like to look into the history, and follow the path from field to table.   Laurel LeMaistre Easter Lilies

The origin of the White Easter Lily, properly known as the Bermuda Lily or lilium longiflorum, can be traced initially to Bermuda and subsequently to the Ryukyu Islands south of Japan. The flower was discovered in 1777 in Bermuda and then widely produced in England and Bermuda until 1898, after a virus destroyed the crops. According to Leonard Perry, a professor at the University of Vermont, growers then moved the plant to Japan. Read more »

Hey Everyone!
I know how energizing the warmth and approaching growing season is for all of you. Fresh air, windows open, sun shining down, and best of all GREEN GROWTH. Oh Yes!

Now is the perfect time for forcing flowering branches and bulbs. Forsythia, Pussy Willow, Flowering Quince, even Birch and Beech and most all other branches get excited about the chance to come out a little early. A close and personal experience with new budding life is quite nice around the home or office.

For the best possible result with forcing branches select stems that have visibly healthy growth points and avoid old growth with dead portions. (go for the good stuff). When you have collected the right size bunch arrange the stems in your hand and… Read more »

Dandelions Florist had a fantastic time designing and setting up floral arrangements that screamed “WOW” at The Inn On Main Friday night. Loads of luscious red Canadian grown Gerbera daisies were brought in and playfully intermingled with white twig armatures and black feather boas. I thought the client was going to cry when she entered the room. The cake provided by Stellaloona Bakery was decked out with flowers and bling and tasted as yummy as it looked. Hooray!
